The idea of the Nursing Resource Center developed within the United States Agency for International Development- American International Health Alliance (AIHA) partnership in progress between Thomas Jefferson University in Philladelphia Pennsylvania and three health institutions in Cluj-Napoca : The Occupational Diseases Hospital, The Inspectorate of Sanitary Police and The Institute of Hygiene and Public Health.
Later, this initiativ was advance by a group of nurses from Cluj ( who completed a health management workshop organized by A.I.H.A. ) and they founded The Iatrika Foundation.
A.I.H.A.initiated a Nursing Resource Center Project within its partnerships both in central and eastern Europe (CEE) and the Newly Independent States to enhance the level of nursing education and practice.
The Centers are a continuation of the process begun in many partnerships and will contribute to the succes of nursing reforms by promoting strategies and sustainability in this field.
